I can go on big camping trips with the whole family with the addition of the air awning as a living space, but we can all sleep in the wamth, quiet and comfort of the van. I can also do a big food shop and the drawer in the back is great for preventing stuff from rolling all over the place. We've driven as a family of 6 down to the french alps with enough stuff for us all for two weeks. This set up is incredibly versatile. If you don't need to literally carry the kitchen sink with you all the time, then don't!
