** 55k miles ** I purchased my BMW approximately 13 months ago for about 8,000. The mileage now sits at 55,000 miles. Throughout my ownership, the vehicle has been reliable and has never presented any issues or warning signs. However, two days ago the engine suddenly developed a fault; I have since had the vehicle inspected by my local mechanic, who has advised that the engine has failed and will require a full replacement.
