Description
Selling this beautiful MX-5 mk2.5 five-speed manual 1.8L after five glorious years. You will enjoy the performance on this legendary sportscar. Handling is exemplary, it sounds wonderful (for a relatively small engine), the gear shift is tight, the 1.8L naturally aspirated engine is responsive and lively, and with the top down life cannot be improved. Fuel economy is surprisingly good. This example is in the superb crystal blue metallic, which I've found attracts many compliments.
Recent work includes alternator, camshaft and crankshaft sensors (2026); timing and auxiliary belts and three new tyres (2025); and new exhaust (2023). Air filter, oil filter and oil have been replaced each year. Comes with aftermarket double-din stereo: Sony DSX B700 worth 100+ new. A stubby aerial was fitted to replace the broken telescopic aerial when I purchased it. The vinyl roof is water tight and in good condition.
The bodywork is okay. Bubbling - which is a ubiquitous problem among the early MX-5s - is visibly present on one of the wheel arches. The other three are effected only minorly. The skirt on the right side has more visible rusting that was present when I bought it and has slowly grown over my ownership. It appears that a previous repair was carried out to that. Despite the rust, the body and frame are sturdy and it has passed all its MOTs without any concerns about the frame.
It's been a pleasure to own this fun little car. I am sure you will have a great time in it too.
