Description
I think I'll regret this, but having succumbed to temptation and ordered an electric car through work, I am selling my lovely 2006 XJ Super V8 - this has the same 400bhp drivetrain as the XJR, but with comfort air suspension.
This is the long wheelbase version, meaning plenty of room in the back. It is also ULEZ compliant and comes with 2 keys.
SPEC
Factory options include heated seats (front & rear), heated steering wheel, 4 zone climate control, rear entertainment and adaptive cruise control.
I have added the crucial Jagdroid infotainment upgrade which brings Apple Carplay/Android Auto/Bluetooth connectivity and a reversing camera.
CONDITION
The car looks lovely and is in pretty good condition inside and out with some minor marks in-line with age.
If I was keeping it, I'd be fussy and get the bonnet resprayed (to take take of some stone chip marks) and also repaint the C pillar on the passenger side where there is a bit of paint bubbling which is common on these aluminium-bodied cars. But these are fairly minor things I have happily lived with.
HISTORY
Before my ownership there were services in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 - all but 1 at Jaguar. The previous owner was a mechanic so annoyingly didn't record his servicing, but there are receipts for a new air suspension compressor, new brakes, and a gearbox service in 2020.
During my ownership, I have had the following work done:
2024:
- Service including new belts, suspension parts, and coolant hose in the 'V' of the V8.
- 4x new Continental Sport Contact 7 tyres & 4x wheel refurbs.
- Centre resonator deletion, replaced with X pipe.
- Jagdroid infotainment upgrade.
- New alternator.
- 2nd service with engine flush.
2025:
- New spark plugs & tie rods.
- Service with engine flush.
- New Sport cats & engine tune (to address MOT fail on emissions).
- New battery.
2026:
- New EGR valve.
- Service with engine flush.
The fresh MOT found 1 rear tyre was low on tread, so I will replace both the rears with new Conti Sport Contact 7s, get the wheels refurbished, & get an alignment.
The only thing that doesn't work is the driver's side folding mirror - the motor tries to move, but it needs a replacement mirror mechanism. Everything else is working lovely.
Let me know if you have any questions. I am based in Great Kingshill in Buckinghamshire, but can also arrange to show the car at my Dad's place in Maidenhead, or at my work near Heathrow.
