Description
This is unique opportunity for a rare, Gravetti built replica AC Cobra. This example boasts a 351 cu in a Ford Cleveland 351-2c V8 engine matched to a C4 three speed automatic transmission with a Salisbury limited slip differential. The gearbox was overhauled in 2004 and the engine rebuilt in 2011 which included replacement bearings and balancing carried out by Real Steel of Uxbridge. Twin auto cooling fans with manual override protect the engine from overheating. Cherry bomb silences have been fitted to give this Cobra the authentic look and sound.
The bodywork is in excellent condition throughout, with no obvious dents or damage. The paint is also in great condition too. The replica Hallibrand wheels hold some serious presence, giving the car real purpose on the road allowing the huge chunks of power the engine delivers to be put down to tarmac. The tyres are in good condition too with plenty of tread left on front and rear. The interior presents wonderfully with only some very light wear and tear, much less than expected from a car this age. Gravetti were notable for laying out the interior similarly to the 'real' Cobra's but this one is much more spacious with it being the long wheelbase model.
Seats are in good condition with very minor wear, keeping their padding and comfort, door cards are in good condition also, as is the centre console.
The boot is home to two batteries.
The car boasts an impressive history file with period photos, invoices over the 56-year life span of the car and even a copy of the GE 427 construction manual from Gravetti documenting the process and allowing future owners to undertake maintenance.
An immobiliser has been fitted, and the vehicle comes with a full wet weather hood and tonneau cover. There is also a large file containing the vehicles history and MOT's. I have owned a Cobra before, and regrated selling it, I am sure I will be the same with this one but, I need the space.
