Description
One of the last MG Rover TF160's before the SAIC cars.
Trophy blue with the original alloys and the 4pot AP calipers up front.
ABS as standard but traction and stability control in this rear wheel drive fun machine are left to you.
I bought it back in late 2017 (perhaps foolishly - it was in a bit of a state)
I dare not add up the money I've spent on this while I've owned it it's been looked after by MG specialist Beech Hill Garage - highlights:
engine has about 40k less miles than the car (nasty HGF followed by replacement engine...)
New clutch, starter motor, battery, exhaust shield, engine mounts in last couple of years
New cat this year
Stainless coolant pipes
Various bits of welding carried out on sills and mounting areas, bodywork in fair condition (photos show all the slightly crummy bits: paint chips on bonnet, bit of filled damage under boot lid, o/s front wing, n/s leading edge of sil)
You'll see a good range of the work carried out by inspecting the MOT history!
Routine servicing carried out to schedule, all the oil and water are in the right places.
Decent tyres fitted (don't skimp here or it feels horrible in the corners!)
I was daily driving it to work for 7 years but it only takes me to the gym twice a week and it's not got enough seats for two kids...
Photos included pre and post washing today.
Countless hours have been spent my me chasing down all the water leaks into the cabin over the years - I really think I've got them all now. I thought I had found all of them in the boot but I'm not fully convinced.
It comes with a watertight soft top with heated glass rear screen so you can actually see behind you, also has a wind deflector so it's pretty sane to drive with the roof down. Tonneau cover is included, outer surface condition is great but the foam has started degrading so if you use it you will end up with some foam grains everywhere. Personally I leave it off so I can up-roof in a hurry from the drivers seat when it starts to rain!
A stack of service history will be supplied with the car but only if you promise not to tot up the numbers and make any kind of comment within earshot of my wife.
I've put off selling this for ages because it's an absolute hoot to drive, I'll really miss it when it's gone but keeping a second car to drive 30 miles a week just isn't sensible.
Any questions or inspections welcomed, this is not a show car - it's for driving.
