Description

2002 Porsche 996.2 3.6 C2 - 6-Speed Manual - 89k Miles - FSH Due to a change of job, I am selling my pride and joy. It took months to find this specific car; as a sports car mechanic with over 25 years of experience, I am incredibly fussy. I specifically sought out a 3.6 C2 manual with Turbo Twist alloys, a clean MOT history, and a full service history, as they are - in my opinion - the best driver's cars of the 996 generation. Major Maintenance & Preventative Work: The "Big Three" (New Clutch, IMS Bearing, and Rear Main Seal) were completed prior to my purchase. Since then, I have performed a comprehensive maintenance to my own uncompromising standards: Oil service using Millers CFS NT+ oil at 84K, K&N panel filter, and fresh brake/clutch fluid. Gearbox oil change (Millers low-friction) Track rods and track rod ends were replaced using TRW (original manufacturer for Porsche) parts, and front alignment. Due to very slight play. Cooling System Overhaul: New Genuine Porsche coolant tank and cap, new radiators, water pump, low-temp thermostat, and G40 coolant. Any ageing hoses and ducts were replaced with Genuine Porsche parts. All 4 lambda sensors were replaced with Bosch sensors due to 1 getting slow. Full Service: Completed less than 1,000 miles ago using Millers CFS NT+ oil, new Bosch plugs. I inspected the oil filter for any metal particles - it was 100% clean. Tasteful Upgrades: Euro Sport stainless back boxes. Lovely rasp without being loud or drowning. RSS engine mounts due to original mounts going soft. New Android Double Din (Phone Link/Nav). I built a custom wiring loom to integrate with the Bose amp/sub correctly, avoiding the common "hacked" speaker wiring. Seating: Upgraded to 997 heated seats a massive improvement in comfort and support over the 996 units. Genuine Porsche 996.1 Aero (Tacho) spoiler with a custom-made loom instead of the usual hacked original loom. (The perfect-condition original engine cover is included ready to fit if desired). Custom quick-shifter (30% shorter travel) with a weighted, illuminated leather knob. (Original shifter/knob included). I had planned to retrofit Cruise control and I have the required loom for the retrofit, which will come with the car. I don't have the switches though. As you can tell, this is not a typical ageing 996. I had planned on keeping it long-term, so every job has been done to the highest standard. Private plate comes with the car. Any questions?
