The car drives smoothly with no issues in forward normal operation. It has been regularly maintained, with seven recorded services and a recent gearbox service at a Mercedes main dealer. The gearbox was serviced in December 2025, with the removed oil reported to be in excellent condition (clean, correct colour, no burnt smell or debris), indicating good internal condition. A comprehensive Service B was also carried out by a Mercedes specialist in May 2025. Condition - ***IMPORTANT*** to read There is a known intermittent behaviour with reverse gear. When the gearbox is completely cold (e.g. overnight), reverse will not engage until the car has had a longer drive to warm up. When completely cold, restarting does not help in this situation. However, if the car has only cooled partially (e.g. after 30-60 minutes following a drive), a restart may temporarily resolve the issue. If repeatedly attempted while the fault is present (particularly when cold), the engine light may come on (it clears after normal driving). Once fully warmed up, reverse works consistently.
