Reluctantly selling my manual porsche 996. If a raw driving experience and an engine that will make you smile everytime you put your foot down is what you're looking for, please read on. The steering is incredibly communicative, paired with the cable throttle and manual gearbox, which gives you complete control - Never a dull moment on a nice road! It's high mileage so certainly not perfect, but paint and interior are in great condition for their age. Mechanically the car is solid, has a couple of issues (will call out below) but these have not stopped me driving and enjoying it. It's the 3.4, so loves to be revved out, but is not so powerful that you will lose your licence by enjoying the lower gears. The good: - Partial history includes mountains of work done on key areas to look for in these cars (AOS, Chain tensioners, expansion tank, power steering lines, clutch and hydraulic roof) have all been replaced/maintained in the last few years. - Serviced regularly and all works carried out by Porsche specialist locally -Interior is very clean. Includes rare cupholders -spare wheel + tool kit - Dansk Sport exhaust (phenomenal noise without being jarring) -K&N air filter -Front and rear tyres and brakes all replaced in my ownership -Hard top in great condition -Recent suspension work and alignment means handling is superb The bad: -Slight whirring noise from pinion bearing (common in cars of this age) -Revs occasionally drop on start up when cold. Likely an idle control valve that needs cleaning/replacing -Paint on bolt holes of each wheel damaged where locking wheel nuts were removed -After market radio beeps incessantly. Normally leave it off as speakers are not great anyway - Roof stuck down having not been used for a year. Motors etc. are working so I think it's simply jammed rather than needing extensive repairs Has been serviced regularly and proactively maintained during mine and previous owners care (plenty of reciepts).
