Description
One of the very first dual fuel cars. Over-engineered by General Motors and consequently, despite a Government subsidy, it was still a tad expensive which inhibited sales.
For two years running it was voted European Car of the Year, when you drive it you will understand why. It is unbelievably quiet, unbelievably quick, handles as though it's on rails and so smooth most of the time you wouldn't know that there was a motor running at all and, for example, it has overrun braking so whenever you slow down or stop the engine turns off. It restarts completely silently and smoothly. Even when it starts from cold you don't hear it. Indeed even such as a BMW hybrid restarts making all the noise and shaking that you wouldn't expect from such a brand.
Externally, it is is one of the sexiest things on the road! When you see it coming it looks as though it's hoovering up the tarmac.......! In any event it doesn't look like any of the majority of current models. The quality of things like panel fit and gaps are quite faultless.
Starting with fully charged batteries, you can potter round town and do other local trips for about 40 miles before it starts using petrol. You will not notice the switchover, the car will behave exactly the same.
Regrettably we are having to sell due to the onset of Parkinsons and the DVLA losing their sense of humour and taking my licence.
