Description
I absolutely love this car and would keep it forever if life wasn't forcing my hand I'm moving abroad and sadly can't take it with me. I'm looking for someone who'll cherish it as much as I have.
For those who know, the V70 R needs little introduction. This is the proper one the 300 PS (296 BHP), 2.5-litre turbocharged inline-five, all-wheel drive, Four-C active chassis beast that Volvo only built for a handful of years. 400 Nm of torque, and those gorgeous Brembo brakes behind the alloys. It's a Q-car in the purest sense looks like an estate, drives like nothing else in its class.
The car:
Year: 2003
Engine: 2.5L turbocharged inline-5, 300 PS / 296 BHP / 400 Nm
Transmission: 5-speed Geartronic automatic (Aisin AW55)
Drivetrain: Haldex AWD
Colour: Silver Metallic (original paint)
Mileage: ~78,000 km (approx. 48,000 miles) genuinely low for the age
Interior: Beige leather (standard on the R), flawless condition
History:
Originally a Swedish-built car that spent its first two decades in Japan. It was imported into the UK around two years ago by a professional specialist dealer who focuses exclusively on Japanese imports, and I've been the sole UK keeper since. I have the import certificate and the complete UK service record for the past two years. The service book from its Japanese life didn't make it across with the car, but the condition of everything under the bonnet and underneath speaks for itself.
Condition:
The bodywork is genuinely clean the photos speak for themselves. Interior is, honestly, flawless. Engine bay is tidy and well looked-after.
The big one for anyone who knows these cars: no rust. This is the Japanese import benefit the climate and road conditions there mean the underside is in a condition you simply don't find on UK-market cars of this age.
Maintenance done during my ownership:
Timing belt replaced
Alternator replaced
Oxygen sensor replaced
Serviced annually, every year without fail
It drives beautifully smooth, punchy, no warning lights, no rattles, no funny noises. Everything works as it should apart from that the headlamp wipers have been disconnected and are now purely decorative.
Purely because I'm relocating abroad. If I could find a way to keep it, I would. It's been an absolute pleasure to own one of those rare cars that makes you want to take the long way home. Genuinely reluctant sale.
Viewings welcome. Serious enquiries only please.
