Description

I am selling this car because I am now 76 and feel too old to carry on owning it. The car is in superb condition. I bought it in late 2020 following a total rebuild and paint. It was in fine condition but not concourse condition at 23,000. The soft top was brand new then and is still perfect. I wanted a car that was as good as possible for my money. However there were still some things that needed to be upgraded with new parts. So I completely upgraded the wheels covers and nuts and badges with new. Then I changed the rear light clusters for new because one was cracked. I had a complete professional gearbox refurbishment with new clutch, new cable , slave and master cylinder. It has overdrive on 3rd and 4th gears. Then I had the interior upgraded with the Mazda seats recovered in leather and with new carpets and panels. Finally I found an original radio and speaker so the car looks like it just came out of the factory. Recently I have had the electrics checked and fitted a new alternator. All the gauges work perfectly. There is only one issue that I would have corrected and that is stiff windows. I have many spares that will come with the car and a very large file of papers from previous owners. The only thing untouched is the engine, although it has had new distributor cap, new spark plugs and points and the fuel injection works fine. I do not know how many miles it has done. It has had two replacement speedometers so the mileage is not known. The fuel injection is original and works fine. The car has always been garaged in an air conditioned space with dehumidifier and has never been driven in the rain. I have generally driven it one or two times a month and have probably driven less than 2000 miles in the last six years. I had a TR6 for 12 years in the 1980s and loved it then. I sold that car because my family began to arrive. I have always been a member of the TR Register and enjoyed my time with them.
