Description
I am selling my reliable Vauxhall Insignia as I am upgrading to a newer car. I have owned this vehicle since January 2018 (over 8 years!) and have maintained it regardless of cost. It has been a solid car that has served me perfectly.
Engine & Maintenance (Major Work Done):
While the mileage is 175k, these are mostly motorway miles. For a fully serviced diesel, this is not an issue, especially since all major/expensive Insignia problems have been addressed preventatively:
December 2023 (at 158k miles): Oil pump seal replaced with the aluminium upgrade (preventative maintenance - no risk of oil pressure issues or engine failure).
July 2023 (at 153k miles): Complete Timing Belt (Cambelt) kit & Water Pump replaced.
July 2023 (at 153k miles): Full Clutch kit & Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) replaced.
DPF: Perfectly healthy, regens always monitored.
Condition & Features:
Engine & Gearbox: Running very well, no issues with the 6-speed gearbox.
Suspension: Excellent condition - no knocks or bangs.
MOT: Very long, valid until January 2027.
Features: Colour Sat Nav, Half-Leather Interior, Parking Sensors, Auto Lights/Wipers, Climate Control, Air Conditioning (the A/C works very well), Cruise Control, Electrically Adjustable Seats, Hill Assist, Electric Handbrake, 2 Keys
Important Notes:
Oil Consumption: The engine does NOT consume oil. I guarantee that I never had to top it up between services. Any mentions of "oil leak" on the MOT history are simply residues on the casing from oil filter changes (the filter location on Insignias makes it impossible to change without spilling some oil).
Vauxhall Recall: There is an outstanding recall for a suspension component. I have already replaced this part at my own expense, but the new owner can still take it to Vauxhall to have it replaced again for FREE (they usually perform a free wheel alignment at the same time).
Who is this car for?
This is a car for someone who values peace of mind and no risk of major, costly repairs. It is ideal for daily commutes and cheap, comfortable motorway driving (55-60 MPG). Mechanically very solid, though the bodywork has age-related marks, scratches, and DIY paint touch-ups after corrosion repair.
Location: Worksop (S80)
