Landrover Defender 90 1996 Genuine Factory County Station Wagon, 300tdi. 1996, Defender 90, MOT March 2027, no advisories. This County was my genesis. The car that started my love affair with Defenders! I do have several other Defenders, due to retirement I am thinning out the landy fleet. Opinions vary however, I think the general consensus is that the 300tdi matched to the R380 gearbox is the most sought combo and when you drive this ole Lady you will understand why. 30 years old & can still sit comfortably in today's traffic. Although at 202k she still drives as good as when I bought her in 2018. The County has been my daily driver, my pride &joy for 8 years. In 2020 I sent the County away for a good fettling and to get some lacquer peel sorted. She came back a year later looking stunning. After discussing with the old guys that were working on her you can not just do the lacquer to a decent standard. So it was a full respray in original colours. Rioja Red with Limestone white roof. Full photos of the work are available. The chap who sprayed the County was 40 years time served at Bentleys. If he didn't like you or the job he simply would not do it. Prior to spraying, the chassis, bulkhead, engine, suspension underwent a through sorting. The rear cross member was replaced. Door bottoms etc are spot on. February this year she had a new clutch and all fluids changed including gearbox, transfer box and axles. The chassis has been protected at the same time. Does the ole girl have a leak? Of course she does it is a Defender, they leaked when leaving the factory! However, it more of a weep than a leak. The old saying is landrovers do not leak, they just mark their territory. Has she work on the chassis, yes. Show me a 30 year Defender that has not had work. The work has been minimal and carried to a very high standard. Built into the cubby box is a fabulous Marshall Bluetooth speaker, I stole the idea from the very exclusive "Cool n Vintage" bespoke landrovers. There is also a new roof liner. In the back on the floor is a very good quality laminated flooring covered with the original very thick carpet. All the interior has been fitted with insulation & Dodo sound deadening material. You can have a conversation in this Defender. This County has had the few respectful and in my opinion tasteful upgrades however she has her original engine, chassis and bulkhead so can be exported to the States.
