Own a piece of automotive history (not a DeLorean, so was built in the past).
First to see probably won't buy, as they will have ignored the first line above thinking they have a pristine E46...
Reluctant sale of my BMW, which has been a great car in my ownership. Sold as spares or repair as seen, as it is SORN, has no MOT and has been standing unused for approximately 7 years. It is a hybrid, as it burns as much oil as it does petrol. I believe this to be due to worn valve stem oil seals but I cannot be 100% sure of this.
Reason for sale: 5 cars is too many...apparently.
Some bodywork has developed the trendy "distressed" look you see on upcycling programs on TV. The rest of the car will also achieve this level of trendiness if left long enough.
It has slick tyres fitted to all 4 wheels, however they did not start out that way. They will all have air in them on collection but two may not when you reach your destination.
The car will need to be trailered or towed away, as years of corrosion development have not helped braking efficiency. I will NOT allow it to be driven away.
It IS running but only with the MAF sensor unplugged as the intake boot has split and will need replacing.
The interior is not in bad condition for a car of this age, wear on the driver's seat bolster being the worst issue (see pictures). Comes with one key unless I can find the other one, in which case it will have two.
The alloys as shown come with the car, one in each corner, all could use a refurb.
Any corrosion not identified in the pictures will be supplied gratis.
Has potential as a track day car...or a chicken shed, the choice is yours.
I have the V5 in my name.
Requires BMW recall for airbag replacement doing, as they keep sending me letters but it's been of little concern whilst it's been standing still and with me not in it.
I am open to sensible offers. Please Google or use a dictionary (if old school) first if you're unsure of the definition of sensible, as I know what I can get scrap value and more if I were to break it for parts.
Can it be seen running?
Yes, in person or I have a video.
Can it be seen not running?
Yes, look at the pictures and don't watch the video.
Can it be taken for a test drive?
No. If you read everything above you'll already know why.
I have tried to list this car humoursly but also very honestly, so any serious questions welcome but please don't waste my time. Thanks for looking!
