Description
It is a 2008 110 7-seater 2.4 tdci which was originally used by the RAF, and I purchased it in 2016 with 42k+ mileage as the first registered owner.
It has been serviced annually and MOT'd and now has 86K mileage. It had an MOT in May 2025 which identified chassis rust issues, after speaking to a number of Landy specialists, they advised I replaced the chassis rather than repair the areas that were rusting, so I took it to CSG Landrover repair centre in Macclesfield and they undertook the work to remove the bodywork and install a new galvanized chassis (with lifetime guarantee). As a result of this installation there were inevitably other chassis attachments and related items that that were identified as needing replacement. The total work involved cost 20k+. I requested a new MOT be undertaken, and it passed with an advisory that the front seatbelts should be replaced due to scuffing and catching on door latches.
No work was undertaken on the body, as this was deemed to be in good condition, with some minor faults (the odd nick/small dent on wing) The work was completed by end of September 2025, and I have since SORNED the landy and had it covered over winter. The landy has had some limited modifications since I took it on, namely a DIN dashboard, LED headlamps and side steps
The biggest change to the above set up has been the purchase and modification of a penman trailer not long after I brought the landy. The trailer now has a metal roof fitted , with a Quest roof tent, and the trailer has been fitted with a dual battery set-up fitted and supplied by APB trading. This is used to power a fridge whilst in transit. The trailer is also set up for external power supply and internal use of Calor/butane gas for external connection to BBQ and dual burners. There is also a heavy-duty bespoke awning with integrated tent. The trailer is finished in matching colour and wheels to the host landy.
There is also a full length Terrafirmer roof rack, not yet re-installed after chassis work, which I use to take a spare matching trailer wheel and nine storage boxes.
I am now at an age where using the set-up is a challenge and I feel it would be better used with a younger family.
