Description
2001 BMW Z3 3.0 ULEZ free with factory LSD
Enthusiast owned, low mileage and owners, dry stored with full-service history. MOT until March 2027.
I obtained the car from an ex-AA mechanic who had meticulously maintained it. The car previously had history in Isle of Mann and Jersey before being imported to the UK in 2014 where the MOT history starts.
The engine and mechanicals are perfect. The stock exhaust note from the inline 3.0 engine is excellent, especially with the roof down. It was optioned with the rare limited slip diff (LSD) from the factory (option S209) so handles much better than most Z3s, with new diff oil recently replaced.
Comes with two keys, tonneau cover, wind deflector, rear screen protector, cockpit cover and car cover.
Roof is fully functional and in good condition along with the rear screen.
The bodywork and paint is well presented aside from some very minor imperfections. The car shows no signs of rust having been reportedly dry stored by all 4 previous owners, and based on the condition of the underside appears to have only ever been driven in fair weather.
The paint is "stahl-grau" or steel grey and comes with rare matching grey door cards and BMW M sport electrically adjusted seats , which are very desirable and comfortable compared to the standard non-sport seats.
The car has only two faults I'm aware of: one is the air-con condenser or union has a weep and does not hold gas. Second, the latest MOT reports a single advisory for "Front Oil leak, but not excessive" which is for a minor weep at the valve cover. A replacement valve cover gasket is provided with the sale and so while this is minor and not urgent, it could use replacing.
In the short time I owned the car it had:
- 4 new Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres in late 2024, covered roughly 800 miles
- Genuine BMW "shorty" weighted shift knob (BMW 25117896031)
- New real alcantara shifter and handbrake boots
- OEM fuel filter replacement
- New battery
The previous owner recently replaced the rear shocks, front pads + calipers, spark plugs and replaced all fluids, including gearbox and diff oil.
Reluctant sale as I moved abroad in early 2025. I bought it as a long term keeper, with the 3.0 inline engine being the one to have. I'm sure these will continue to appreciate in value as a modern classic, especially in this condition and milege.
The car is stored and maintained in my father's garage in Suffolk and I'm in no hurry to sell.
