Description
Selling vehicle due to lack of space and time to work on it :(
It's an absolutely beautiful vehicle and would be perfect for someone looking to take on a project to convert this beast into a camper/home on wheels.
I bought the vehicle in July 25, as a project to convert into a camper.
I had taken it to get an MOT but it failed due to leaf spring, 2 tyres that had worn and some corrosion on the nearside and offside steps frame.
I paid for a full 42 point service and for the leaf spring to get fixed but the garage i had taken it to couldnt do the welding, I had taken it to two other garages to get the welding work done but they couldnt do the work.
After reflection, I decided to cut my losses on it because I literally dont have the space to do the work required, even once the repairs were done, as I live on a terraced road with limited on road parking.
So, ideally, you will need a driveway at least or if you have or know someone who has some land or a unit or warehouse/barn to do the work. Also if you are a welder or mechanic or know someone who is that would also be ideal. I sadly dont know anyone or know anywhere I can do the work required to convert it so decided it's the wrong time and place for me.
But aside from that, it's mechanically sound, it starts first time, drives well, and just needs some TLC and will be a great camper for some lucky person.
I'm absolutely gutted I have to sell it. I've already invested alot of time and effort into it and am taking a loss on selling it at this price as it is. Happy to accept offers on it.
I also bought the Haines manual for it which am happy to throw in as well.
Edit: The vehicle is registered to be a 17 seater but only has 11 seats. I was sold the vehicle being 3.5 tonnes but is registered as 4.2 tonnes which I only found out after I tried to get it MOT'd. However upon researching, direct Gov states you are legally allowed to drive a 3.5 tonne vehicle with an additional 750KG allowance if it has a wheelchair lift - which it does.
So yeah once you get the welding work done and 2 new tyres it will pass it's MOT. It did have tax up until a few weeks ago because i had to declare it as SORN because i didnt have insurance because it wasn't MOT'd but this is a few steps away from being perfectly road legal, then a perfect vessle for a camper conversion that will most certainly make somebody very happy im sure!
