Description
1998 Golf Cabriolet
Here we have a VW Golf Cabriolet, purchased the vehicle to have some summer fun but due to having other classics, we never really gelled with this one so putting it up for sale so it gets used.
Bodywork is very good, small amount of paint defects in the bootlid, and that's it. Underneath the car is solid, I've done some welding on all the suspect bits, treated it properly, cleaned the whole underside and treated the lot. It's got a long MOT, can put 12 months on it for the right buyer. Just had a long list of stuff done to it, I was doing all the work required with the aim to use it myself, so it's right, not just done up to sell.
Full service, cambelt, water pump, aux belt, new distributor cap and rotor arm, two new water housing as the old plastic ones were cracked, the metal water pipe had corroded away so that's brand new. New front coil spring and anti-roll bar link for the MOT. New rear wheel bearing, new exhaust cat as the old one was past its best.
Electric roof was new not long before being taken off the road and dry stored, the electric hydraulics all work perfectly. Gearbox is sweet, engine runs well. Would possibly benefit from a new set of tyres, the ones on it aren't cracked, very good tread all round, but where it's been sat, some have developed a slight flat spot so between 60 and 70 there is a vibration. I was going to get the wheels refurbed, or try and find originals and put a new set of tyres on.
Got a good amount of history, not everything as you'd expect on a car of this age, the value is only going to go one way, look at mk1 and mk2's!
Priced I think fairly, the car is in very good condition but I'm open to offers for a genuine buyer who's going to use it as it need to be used. Viewings welcome, I can take you for a spin or with proof of insurance you can drive yourself.
Any questions please just message me, looking for a genuine buyer, no tyre kickers.
Cash or bank transfer on collection, no warranty or refunds etc, it's an old car.
