1972 VW beetle Reluctant sale of rare 1972 1303s VW Super Beetle. (Google suggests only 195 left on UK roads) 1600cc engine. 88,150 mileage. Right Hand Drive. Purchased October 2020 & has 6 owners since new with one owner of over 30 years. Used as a wedding car 2015 to 2019 when he was tidied up inside and a new engine fitted from a Kent Based VW specialist. Since then, he has driven very few miles. In last 5 years I have: replaced all tyres, replaced all rubber window trims , some electrics rewired, fitted new rear elephant foot light covers, new flexi brake hose fitted to all 4 brakes, steering track control arm boots replaced, new Speedo cable fitted & replaced the starter motor. As with all cars of this age, there is some rust present on the body and chrome but floor pan is solid and heating channels work. The running boards and bonnet ideally need replacing. If you are looking for a classic VW to bring back up to its glory days, this is a great car. The reason for the sale is we absolutely love having a Beetle, he turns heads when out and about and he's great fun. But we have little idea on car maintenance and when the little jobs need doing to keep him on the road, the mechanics in our area willing to help have reduced or retired to the point we have no one left.
