Description
This little Audi TT was initially bought with the intention of it being retail stock. However, whilst it has many good points it has a gearbox issue that we just don't have the time to get into and the car is being offered as SPARES OR REPAIRS. It will need to be towed or trailered off-site.
For complete transparency, it is likely to at least require replacement of the valve body (they are available as reconditioned units), or potentially the sourcing of a 2nd hand replacement gearbox. The issue is that once warm, the gearbox can get jerky and unpredictable, and it can also slip under acceleration.
Other known things to note are that it is inconsistent on the keyfob (there is only one), it will require a new exhaust and it has had the increasingly commonplace immobiliser bypass done with the dash light blanked out to stop it flashing.
On the plus side, the car has good service history including 12 stamps in the book and multiple old invoices, plus other invoices for works including recent coolant temp sensor, recent rear brakes, new driveshafts, coil packs, rocker cover gasket, spark plugs, plus a cambelt kit inc. pulleys and water pump at 100,000 miles. It has been loved in the past, the gearbox issue is just unfortunate.
Also valid MOT until November 2026, and a decent MOT history.
Bodywork is generally good, there are a couple of corrosion bubbles starting to appear on the o/s/f wheel arch and on the leading edges of the removable roof rails.
Interior is good, the driver's seat doesn't flip up for rear access.
It's a good car and not yet fit for its end....it runs great and we've used it over the past few months for running around in. It just needs the right person to take it on as a project, largely to get the gearbox sorted. Road tax band not too bad.
