Really don't want to sell this car but a 26 mile commute with 23 miles of 40/50mph average cameras means I've taken a sensible pill and bought a comfy eco cruiser. I love the car but it's just not the right car for my situation any more.
Bought nearly 2 years ago from an enthusiast that had in turn bought it from his friend. In that 2 years I've been on several road trips all over Wales and Scotland and she hasn't missed a beat. Apart from the expected maintenance and servicing it's been a solid reliable daily.
Modifications include -
- MHD stage 1 tune (approx 370bhp)
- Centre silencer removed
- Aluminium charge pipe (preventative maintenance)
Msport back box.
Adaptive dampers.
Rear parking sensors.
Speed limiter.
Tyre pressure sensors.
EWG model N55.
Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres all round (new rears).
Religiously only run on premium fuel.
Discs and pads changed just before I owned it.
Upper coolant pipe replaced (preventative maintenance).
11 oil services.
BMW updated the satnav system and carried out the airbag recall 18 months ago.
The bodywork is generally what you'd expect from a 14 plate car. Interior is good, alcantara wheel is lovely. Windscreen was replaced 18 months ago due to a stone chip. Don't be put off by the mileage, there are plenty of these EWG N55 engines easily over 200k miles, I would be happily keeping the car if my commute wasn't so boring.
The aircon isn't great, I had a hole in the aircon radiator patched up but there still seems to be a slow leak in the system somewhere.
Just applied to take the private reg off (DJI 1197) so as of today (04/05/26) I've just got to wait a few days for the V5 to come through for YX14 KWE.
