Description
2001 Jaguar XKR Convertible - Adaptive Cruise - Rust Free - Exceptional Condition
A beautifully presented 2001 Jaguar XKR Convertible finished in striking red with black leather interior and black hood. A genuine modern classic with the supercharged V8, effortless performance and one of the prettiest shapes Jaguar ever produced.
This example has clearly been cherished and maintained properly. The underside has been fully undersealed and the car is rust free - increasingly rare on these cars. It also benefits from upgraded Brembo brakes and a stainless steel exhaust, giving the car the stopping power and soundtrack it deserves.
The paintwork presents extremely well with a deep shine, the hood is in very good condition and the interior remains smart and original.
Everything works as it should including:
* Air conditioning
* Heated Seats
* Electric seats
* Central locking
* Alarm/immobiliser
* Electric roof
* Re-fitted Garmin GPS navigation
* Windows and mirrors
A particularly unusual and desirable feature is the fully functioning adaptive cruise control system. Remarkably advanced for a 2001 car and very uncommon to find working correctly today. The system has recently been professionally refurbished and operates exactly as intended.
Importantly, the original engine was replaced by Jaguar at approximately 93,000 miles due to the well-known Nikasil liner issue affecting some early Jaguar V8 engines. The issue was linked to the higher sulphur content of some fuels used at the time and is no longer considered a concern with modern fuels.
As a result, the replacement engine has covered only approximately 34,000 miles.
The car drives exactly as an XKR should - smooth, powerful and refined, with immense torque from the supercharged V8 and a lovely grand touring feel.
MOT valid until September 2026.
Known minor points:
1. The indicator click/ticker does not currently sound. A replacement speaker is included and ready to fit.
2. The external boot release button on the boot lid itself does not operate, although the boot can still be opened in three other ways.
3. The front tyres will need replacing soon.
Overall, this is an increasingly collectible X100 XKR in genuinely attractive condition, with sensible upgrades and the important rust issues already addressed.
A very usable modern classic that still turns heads everywhere it goes.
