Description

It is with a heavy heart that I find myself listing "Clifford"! This little car has bags of character, is in near mint condition and has an interesting story behind him. The car comes with a good amount of service history - yet somewhat unconventional. When I viewed the car, the underside of the bonnet was covered in post-it notes with details of every yearly service this car received by its previous owner. These have all been stored in a file along with the rest of the paperwork. Exterior: The paintwork is like new with a few age related marks. The underside is basically rust free. Some plastic components showing signs of age - the scuttle and aerial seal could do with replacing and the front numberplate is on the way out. Interior: The inside of this car is absolutely mint. Blaupunkt bluetooth radio. Spare wheel and toolkit. Comes with appropriate Haynes Manual and car protective cover. Seats are in great condition, all fabrics are spotless. 2 keys HISTORY: The first owner had the car for 8 years before selling it to the second (long term) owner who stored it in a garage and maintained it meticulously for 15 years. This owner then lost the ability to drive the car and sold it to his brother to store and run around in. Then came me, who gave the car a full service and refurbished the injectors 7 months ago. I have also replaced the fuel lines in the engine. I bought the car in the summer of 2025 for the express purpose of driving down to the south of Spain and back in it so that I had a car down there for the duration of a 6 month study visa. A fairly big ask for a car so old, I thought. Having driven there and back (three days either way) without so much as a skipped beat I am comfortable in saying that this car is more than fit to be someone's reliable daily driver with some retro style. More often than not I find myself receiving compliments about the car and how daft I am for selling it. The reason for selling Clifford is that I simply don't have space for him. Nothing would make me happier than being able to keep the car stored somewhere dry, enjoy it and let it appreciate in value, but that is just not practical for me. I'd very much like the car to fall into the hands of an enthusiast or someone who likes cool old cars and intends on looking after the car like the little gem that it is. Open to sensible offers.
