Description
It has come time to sell my 2006 Volvo S60 T5 with a 6 speed manual, finished in metallic silver. The sudden desire for an 850 estate means this beast is ready for a new owner.
It's got a full service history with many of the intervals being just 5000/ 6000 miles, and the cambelt was done fairly recently at 69k. It also has a fresh 12 months MOT and a full service including 2 new front tyres.
Anyone who knows these cars will back me up when I say they are absolutely amazing to own. It packs a 2.4L turbocharged inline 5 cylinder churning out 260bhp, turning it into an absolute rocketship when you put your foot down, and the sound is incredible.
This engine is more commonly known to be used in the MK2 Focus ST and the performance version S60R as a 2.5 litre, however this being the 2.4 makes it much more desirable for tuning and upgrade potential as the cylinder walls are thicker and much less prone to cracking under load.
All of this does make it a bit of a gas gobbler, however it will reliably get 30-35mpg on the motorway, 20-25 for everyday town and country roads and anything less than 20 if you're sending it. Can get 500 miles out of one 70L tank with fuel efficient driving. Of course it comes with Volvo's famous reliability, and will run forever given proper servicing.
The interior is a lovely place to be having THE comfiest leather seats you will ever sit in. The A/ C is quick and practical, it's got cruise control, heated front seats, original radio, electric seat controls with memory, foldable mirrors, a great sound system, and my personal favourite the 5 (yes five) hidden cup holders. There is an unfortunate lack of rear leg room, however it does make up for it in boot space and is surprisingly large for a saloon.
Of course just recently becoming over 20 years old means there is some old car wear on the door cards and handles, and the paintwork has various stone chips and marks that can be easily gone over with the touch-up paint in the glovebox. In addition to a small concave dent in the top of the bumper from when I reversed into a small tree (whoops)
The beautiful 17 inch Orpheus alloys have definitely seen better days, with bits of curbing and peeling however don't look too bad from a distance.
Not a drop of rust anywhere on the body, the only bits that are vulnerable are the exhaust and some suspension components.
These cars are becoming increasingly hard to find, especially the manual ones.
Any questions feel free to ask.
