W208 Mercedes-Benz CLK55 AMG 123k miles - magazine featured - Supplied with 12 months MOT Hand built 5.4ltr AMG M113 V8 engine, matched with the 722.6 5 speed automatic which is up rated from factory for the higher output. From the factory these 5.4ltr AMG engines have a forged steel crankshaft, forged weight matched connecting rods and pistons, and a lightweight AMG specific chain driven single overhead cam camshafts. These, amongst other upgrades give the car a considerable power output of 354 horsepower and 510nm of torque. The car was magazine featured with a 6 page spread in Mercedes enthusiast magazine around 10 years ago, and lives up to the headline 'shoestring supercar'. It is believed to be only one of five cars supplied in this colour 'azurite blue' in right hand drive, and it comes on a set of genuine 18' AMG monoblock alloys. In the last 18 months the car has undergone restoration works on the engine, drivetrain, electronics and chassis. It is now running and driving exceptionally well, and the underside is in good order from a corrosion perspective. There are still some minor issues with the car: Stitching has come apart on the drivers seat bolster Some pixels out on the dashboard clocks (DIY disassembly and can be sent to a company in the uk for refurbishment for around 120-150 pounds) Some of the blue leather colouring has come away from the steering wheel where I deep cleaned it Some minor marks around the bodywork, the worst of which being on the side skirt on the passenger side as can be seen in the photographs. The car cleans up very well, however it would benefit from a full claybar, mop, polish, and wax to bring it right back to life. The interior is in very good order other than than the seat and steering wheel as mentioned above. Running costs are relative for the type of car. The highest fuel economy I've seen was on a run back from wales and it read 28.5 mpg, which was before most of the above works were carried out so 30mpg is attainable. General driving around town is around 20mpg. Tax I believe is 340 per year or around 35pcm if paid Open to offers as it is hard one to price.
