Description
This is one of the finest original 4.2 XK8s in the country.
Ivory leather interior, BBS Detroit 20" split rim wheels, Zircon Blue bodywork and a walnut dash make this probably the most collectible of all the XK8s (which is why I bought it). It's a real eye-catcher and gets lots of comments.
Being one of the early 4.2L cars, this engine doesn't suffer from all the issues of the earlier 4.0s. And unlike the supercharged version, it hasn't spent its life being ragged around.
This car has been dry stored for over ten years, hence the low mileage. It has just been returned to the road this year with a full service, including filters, fluids, brake fluid, new spark plugs and fuel filter, and a brand new battery.
After ten years in storage the only thing needed for the MOT was a washer motor. This car has been well cared for all its life. It drives beautifully.
The overall condition is very good. There are a couple of marks on the paint which may just polish out, and a scuff on the bumper (see photos). But with a bit of TLC you will easily have one of the best XK8s out there.
The fuel gauge is a bit erratic (see photo) and the left hand dim/dip mirror glass is stuck on dim. Everything else is fully working as far as I know.
The car can be viewed and driven in South Devon (near Salcombe.)
