Description
Selling my Mercedes SL400 AMG Sport. This is a well cared for example with full Mercedes and specialist service history, including 4 services carried out by Mercedes under 45,000 miles and a further 2 specialist services at 49,000 and 59,000 miles.
At 49,000 miles the car had a major service including spark plugs, brake fluid, oil service, air and cabin filters, fuel filter, and front brake pads (Brembo OEM). All four tyres were also replaced at 48,000 miles with Pirelli P-Zero tyres to OEM specification. More recently at 59,000 miles it had a minor service including oil and filter change and rear brake pads.
I have continued to maintain the car properly during my ownership, including an interim oil change. The car has covered 15,000 miles under my ownership, including a long European trip to Switzerland and back, where it performed faultlessly. It has always been run on 98+ RON fuel.
The car comes with full documentation including service records and original purchase paperwork.
Mechanically, the car drives exactly as it should with smooth gearbox operation and no warning lights or faults present at the time of driving. The roof operates correctly with no issues, opening and closing as it should.
A diagnostic scan has recently highlighted the thermostat as stuck open, which can occasionally trigger the engine management light. The car still drives completely normally with no overheating issues. It is a known minor issue on these engines and is typically a straightforward repair in the 250-350 range.
Condition-wise, the car is very good for its age. There are two alloys with light scuffing and some minor front bumper stone chips, as expected, along with light leather wear consistent with mileage. Nothing unusual for an SL of this age.
The M276 V6 biturbo engine is known for its reliability when properly maintained, and this example reflects that, driving exactly as it should.
Viewings are welcome, ideally evenings or weekends. First genuine buyer to view is likely to buy. No time wasters please.
