In September 2023, with 130,217 miles on the clock, the previous owner put around 17,000 of work through BMR Performance, BMW specialist. Some highlights: a full Inspection II service including coolant, brake fluid and air conditioning regas; a complete brake overhaul front and rear with new discs, pads, callipers, hoses and back plates; all four front control and reaction arms replaced; both front shock absorbers and anti-roll bar drop links renewed; and all four rear upper suspension arms replaced. On top of the mechanical work, the bonnet, bootlid and rear bumper received a full bare-metal respray, and a genuine BMW front bumper panel was fitted and painted. The alloys were diamond-cut and refurbished, four new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres were fitted, and the car was machine-polished throughout. The driver's seat was cosmetically repaired and the headrest motor and cables replaced, leaving the interior in genuinely good shape. The full BMR invoice is available to view.
The bodywork is rust-free: sills, arches and underside all clean. A CarPlay-compatible head unit has been fitted and the exhaust is new. The Sport-spec black leather is in great condition for the mileage. The car does carry a Category N marker on its history, resulting from a scratch to the left-hand side of the front bumper visible in the Gallery. Structurally, this is cosmetic only, and the bumper itself is the genuine BMW replacement panel fitted by BMR. MOT runs to 16 July 2026. This is a well-documented, properly sorted, individual spec E39 at a realistic price.
