The B7 is based on the E65 BMW 7 Series but was comprehensively re-engineered by Alpina, both mechanically and aesthetically, to create one of the most discreet yet capable luxury performance saloons of its era. Alpina transformed the standard 745i by increasing power from 333 bhp to an impressive 500 bhp through the addition of a bespoke supercharger system, alongside numerous chassis and mechanical upgrades. The result is effectively a four-door luxury supercar, delivering immense performance while maintaining the refinement and comfort expected of a flagship executive saloon. At the time of production, Alpina's conversion almost doubled the cost of the donor 745i.
