2012 Volvo V50 D3 Automatic. 145k miles on it currently, may go up as in light use. Bought in 2023 as a work horse to help me move house and it's done the job very well. Pulls well through the gears, is good on fuel and comfortable to drive. Powered by a Volvo designed 2.0 diesel turbo 5 cylinder engine (not the ford 4 cylinder lump) mated to a 6 speed aisin automatic gearbox. Works I've done to it in the last 12 months: - 2x new driveshafts and auto gearbox service at a Volvo specialist, covered 1500 miles since. Have receipts - Fluids and filters change at 145k (200 miles ago) - brand new caliper on front passenger side as well as new front pads when serviced. Bad points: Paintwork isn't the best and needs a polish and touchups in places. There are a few battle scars from previous owner as shown in the photos but nothing that affects driving, wanted to get around to sorting but have project cars to sort out so never got around to it. Engine was running a bit lumpy at idle when cold so plugged diagnostics in and found EGR was sticking which is very common on these engines at this mileage. I spent a day stripping it down and cleaning it out freeing the valve but still ever so slightly sticking. This is only noticeable when cold as the engine can feel a bit 'jumpy'. As car warms it settles and again doesn't affect the driveability or useability. Can get it mapped out or replace EGR entirely. I have recently been down to Dorset in it from Leicester (500 mile round trip) and it didn't miss a beat and averaged close to 50 MPG. Bluetooth audio, heated leather seats and cruise control make it a very comfortable car to do long journeys in.
