Description
Northamptonshire.
Volkswagen 2005 T5 Caravelle converted to campervan/day van. Automatic transmission, but don't be put off by this, I will never drive a manual van after driving an automatic, it's such a pleasure to drive especially on long distances!!
Bought in 2024 with almost 250,000 miles on the clock. The engine blew up shortly after.
The engine has been totally rebuilt from the ground up, costing 5k.
NEW:
Cylinder block rebored and new Bore linings x 5
Head + Gasket + Bolts
Inlet and exhause valves
Camshaft + Bearings
Tappet buckets
Injectors (Refurbished) and seals
Injector retaining bridge fitted (stops injector rock that damages head)
Piston rings
Main bearings (crankshaft polished)
Con rod bearings
Water pump
Oil pump
Oil filter
Oil non return valve
Timing gear bushings where needed
Fuel tandem pump
Fuel filter
Intercooler
Alternator
Oil pressure gauge
Automatic gearbox oil change also done.
There is a ton of paperwork for the van from the previous owners and even more from my ownership.
The bodywork is in very good condition for the age, but it's not perfect.
Small dent to rear, happy to get fixed.
The interior is in great condition. I have built a bed with storage underneath.
Runners still there for seats (sold).
The van is registered as a people carrier so it doesn't have a 60mph speed limit, I had no idea this was a thing with vans.
Two keys.
A change in life circumstances has forced the sale of this beloved van.
