Description

Offered for sale is my much-loved 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 MkIII Phase II, one of the final 500 examples produced. Built on 3rd October 1967, this highly celebrated British sports car represents the very last evolution of the iconic Big Healey. This example features all final production specification revisions, including: - 150bhp six-cylinder engine with 2" SU carburettors - 4-speed overdrive gearbox with flick-switch engagement (6 forward ratios) - Wrap-around windscreen and immaculate pram-style hood - Improved ground clearance - Revised rear axle design for enhanced refinement and drivability The car was comprehensively restored and has covered just 36,000 miles since. It remains a regularly enjoyed weekend car and drives exceptionally well. Restoration works included a full engine rebuild with a new block, pistons, camshaft, aluminium unleaded head, stainless steel exhaust, harmonic dampener and further supporting mechanical works. The LHD to RHD conversion was carried out by a marque specialist and included a new steering box. Around this time, the car was also repainted, with new carpets, hood and hood bag fitted, all of which remain in excellent condition today. Importantly, the car retains its original panels, original seats and many beautiful period details, including: - Chrome spotlamp - Period chrome aerial - Walnut fascia - Late octagonal wheel nuts - Chrome wire wheels Finished in Ice Blue over Old English White, the car presents beautifully and. The same iconic colour combination was also seen on the Austin-Healey featured in The Gentlemen. Having had just three owners, the car comes with its original 1968 confirmation of sale, alongside over 36,000 in restoration and maintenance invoices. It has just been MOT'd and benefits from a strong history file. This is a beautifully sorted and highly usable Austin-Healey with excellent road manners and real presence. Ready to use, enjoy and show. Supplied with: British Motor Heritage Certificate, original period advertisements, extensive history and invoice file, American title documentation, restoration paperwork and supporting records Available for viewing and collection from my garage in Temple Guiting, in the Cotswolds.
