Description

Alfa Romeo 159 Sport Wagon in good overall condition for the year and mileage and a great looking car. This car is the Ti trim level (Sport Plus Manual), but for some reason appears to have been registered as a Lusso. Bought as a stop gap and mini project whilst waiting for a new car delivery, which turned up sooner than expected, hence the short ownership. Drives well, corners nicely and engine seems strong. Good tyres all round. Good disks and pads all round. These are rare cars now, only 4 sport wagons on Autotrader at time of writing, and only 1 of those is a Ti. Android based head unit which has wireless CarPlay that works well with my iphone. (Also have the original head unit). New windscreen and the auto wipers and auto lights are functional. New Bosch battery, slightly higher spec than the original and fits perfectly in the battery tray. Two keys. Good service history. New MAP sensor. New cabin filter, air filter, fuel filter. Clear vcheck report from April which I will include. Not so good points - I was planning to address most of these, but haven't had the time - this list wont be exhaustive, but covers the points that I am aware of: Minor oil leak, no drops of oil on the driveway though (and that's even with the under tray removed). I suspect it may be coming from the vacuum pump area. I have a vacuum pump gasket to try, just not had a chance to fit it yet, but will include it with the car. Can be slow to crank sometimes - it has never not started, but on occasion it is slow to start, even with a brand new higher spec battery. Could be a grounding issue or something else, like the EGR valve needs a clean etc. Bodywork - large scratch on left side of rear bumper and paint flaking off on the ride side, as shown in the photos. Alloy wheels are all curbed and could do with a refurb. AC is intermittent, sometimes it blows cold, sometimes not. Front and rear subframes do have some rust, but appear to be solid. I would factor in having to change these at some point. The right rear trailing arm did have a hole in it, but this has been replaced. Test drive possible, but only on providing proof of insurance cover. I'm happy to drive on the test drive if not.
