Description
This version of the Leaf has the larger 62kWh battery with WLTP range of 239 miles. In real world driving I get about 180 miles Summer, 160 miles Winter and the efficient heatpump climate control makes no noticeable difference. The aircon is effective and in Winter I now can't be without the electrically heated front and rear seats and steering wheel.
It has good acceleration even in ECO mode and in traffic you may enjoy the ePedal feature that mostly lets you use just the right pedal to both accelerate and brake.
It has a superb Bose sound system, including a (removable) wave audio box in the boot. It has Bluetooth connectivity for handsfree phone and music as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via the USB connection.
If you subscribe to Nissan Connect, you can control a number of features such as climate control, navigation and charging, from your phone. If you don't want to pay for that, you can still set timers from inside the car and use the built in SatNav without traffic info.
It's also a great family car with ISO Fix points on front and rear passenger seats and the front airbag can be disabled with the key. There's plenty of storage with seat back pockets and cup/bottle spaces on doors and between the front seats.
The intelligent cruise control with steering assist, makes long journeys effortless and the selectable front, rear and side cameras make parking easy. This is assisted by the parking sensors and the tight turning circle from the power steering.
Like most electric vehicles this one has great acceleration and is quiet compared to a petrol or diesel vehicle, making it both fun to drive and a practical family car.
