Description
Thank you for viewing this listing for my father's Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec Climate. He has owned the vehicle for 17 years (purchased in 2009) and it has covered a genuine, warranted 53,687 miles. Low mileage, two owner examples like this are increasingly rare, and this Focus has many years of life left in it. No warning indicators are present on the dashboard, and all lights illuminate and extinguish correctly during operation. I have aimed to provide a thorough description, but please feel free to contact me if you require any further information or clarification.
The car was originally purchased as a Category D, professionally repaired vehicle. The damage was limited to the rear left quarter and was minor. The interior has been well cared for with non smoking and no pets inside. At some stage the bonnet lock failed and was replaced, which is why the vehicle comes with a separate key for the bonnet.
The only reason for sale is that my father has recently retired and treated himself to a newer vehicle. The bodywork does show some age related marks and blemishes, which are to be expected for a vehicle of this age. Mechanically, however, it has been well maintained throughout his ownership, with servicing carried out almost every year alongside the MOT. Although he did not keep many receipts, all work was carried out by the same trusted mechanic (Redline Autos, Birmingham), who can verify the history if required.
The vehicle is currently SORN and has no active insurance.
List of previous owners
First owner - Miss J Murphy, 21/08/07 (2 years)
Second owner - Present owner, my father, 02/09/09 (17 years) purchased at 18,921 miles, driven a total of 53,687 miles
Service and MOT schedule
There are a few receipts and invoices available, although my father was never particularly concerned about keeping a full written record. What he has always done is ensure that any required work was carried out promptly. Over the years this has included routine annual servicing, as well as replacement of brakes, pads, discs, tyres and other mechanical components as needed. In most cases, the vehicle was serviced at the same time as the MOT.
Known faults
The main issue with the Focus is that the digital part of the instrument cluster has now failed. It has been intermittently working for the past few years, but it has recently stopped functioning altogether. The clutch can also be temperamental and in the long run it will eventually need to be replaced.
