Description
Mechanically sound, fresh MOT, lots of cosmetic wear-and-tear as you'd expect from a higher mileage car of this age, a few known faults and annoyances (see below).
Full service history with stamps. It's been serviced every year except 2020. Timing belt replaced in August 2024 at 135,000 miles.
It currently has a front and rear dash cam (Nextbase 422GW) hardwired into the fuse box so it runs with the ignition, without cluttering the cabin with cables. I can include it for an extra 120 pounds (it cost significantly more new with install), or I can remove it cleanly before handover for no charge if you don't want it.
Good things:
- Big boot. Rear seats can fold flat.
- Cruise control and speed limiter. Nice on long motorway drives, as well as mindless 20 mph urban driving.
- Great strong air conditioning with dual-zone climate control.
- Heated front windscreen is useful in winter.
- Automatic headlights are a nice convenience.
- Audio options: DAB/FM radio, Bluetooth and aux cable.
Faulty things:
- Parking sensors. Car dings when you switch on the ignition to tell you about it. Annoying.
- Interval wiper setting. Wipers work on continuous or manual trigger only.
- Rear right passenger window doesn't open (other three windows are fine).
- Small roof leak in boot. When it rains hard for a long time (e.g. every day for a week), water comes into the boot from the roof. Apparently a common issue on this model. (First noticed this in late 2025; YouTube suggests it's not too difficult to DIY.)
- One working key, one broken key. (It works, but drains the battery due to a short circuit.)
Ugly/annoying things:
- Scratches on body and a chip on the bonnet. See pictures.
- Missing parcel shelf load cover for the boot.
- Missing owner's manual (but available online).
- We don't like that it's keyless entry and keyless start. We keep the key in a signal-blocking pouch to reduce the chance of theft.
- Door seals have given us some grief. We've had to glue/gaffer tape them back on after falling off. Very common on Fords of this age.
The car includes a few things for driving on the continent if you ever want to:
- metal number plates with a UK label
- Crit'Air sticker for French ZFE zones (including Paris)
- Umweltplakette for German Umweltzonen
