Description
2003 Volkswagen Golf Mk4 1.4 petrol, 3-door, silver, 126,485 miles. MOT valid until 1 January 2027.
I bought the car in 2023 and it has served me really well. It runs and drives nicely, starts well, and has been used regularly for trips all over the country. I am only selling because I have bought my dream car, so this one is now surplus to requirements. I would really like it to go to someone who will keep it going rather than see it scrapped.
Since owning it, I have had a fair amount of maintenance carried out. It has had a full service each year since I bought it in 2023, although there is no full service history with the car. The starter motor has been replaced, the exhaust has had repairs carried out a few times, and an oil leak advised on a previous MOT was fixed in January. Since then, it has not noticeably lost oil.
Known issues / age-related points:
* Front suspension advisories on the MOT will need attention in future
* Rear axle swivel pins advisory on MOT
* Nearside sill has corrosion and has been repaired/worked on previously, so will need monitoring
* Nearside side repeater lens is broken
* Rear windscreen wiper is missing
* Boot floor is missing
* Driver's seat is torn near the door side
* Front grille previously snapped when opening the bonnet and has been glued back into place
* Various paintwork scuffs, chips and marks around the car
* Interior is worn, as expected for age
Overall, this is an honest older car rather than a pristine example. It has cosmetic issues and some advisories to keep on top of, but it runs well, has a long MOT, and has plenty of life left in it.
Affectionately nicknamed "Gerry the Geriatric Golf".
Viewings welcome. Please remember this is a 2003 car with age-related wear, so it is priced accordingly.
