Owned since 2023 by an MX-5 Owners Club member. Bought as a low-mileage, stock example, this car has since undergone an extensive, thousands-spent restoration to create one of the finest, rust-free examples in the UK.
Bodywork & Chassis (Fully Resolved)
2026: 2 months of specialist work at Mutty's Mazda Man Cave. New inner/outer sills (both sides), front/rear arches, and both front chassis legs.
Underside stripped to bare metal, rust-treated, painted, and undersealed.
Full respray including the matching factory hardtop.
Engine, Cooling & Drivetrain
Engine: Annual servicing. Timing belt, water pump, major seals, cam/crank sensors, and rubber engine mounts replaced (2024). Relocated washer bottle.
Cooling: Mishimoto thicker radiator, Bofi hoses, shroud, and aftermarket overflow tank.
Gearbox/Clutch: 5-speed manual with brass shifter bush. New clutch, lightened flywheel, and full gearbox service (2024).
Differential: Rebuilt Torsen Type 2 (4.1) with polybushes and new seals (2025).
Suspension, Brakes & Wheels
Suspension: Overhauled (23/24) with IL Motorsport upgraded rubber bushes, 8 new arms, and ball joints. MeisterR Sport Z Plus 36-stage coilovers, Whiteline sway bars, and IL Motorsport drop links. "Fast Road" alignment by Genie Green Rebuilds.
Brakes: 4x standard calipers, drilled/grooved discs, and HEL braided lines (2023). EBC Yellowstuff pads (2025).
Wheels/Tyres: Team Dynamics Pro Race LT 15x7 (Gunmetal Grey) on Accelera 651 semi-slicks (205/50/15).
Intake & Exhaust
Intake: Ramair intake modified for true cold-air feed via a 3D-printed fog light grille.
Exhaust: Gravity manifold, OEM-spec CAT, dual-exit backbox on poly mounts (2024/25).
Interior & Exterior
Interior: Factory tombstone seats re-covered in plush vinyl. Nardi steering wheel, Sony Apple CarPlay touchscreen, centre console delete, GCFab X-brace roll bar (colour-matched to wheels), and Dynamat sound deadening.
Exterior: Mazdaspeed-style side skirts, smoked halo headlights/DRLs, and red tow hook. Both hardtop and original vinyl soft top feature heated rear screens.
