Description
2008 Mazda MX-5 2.0 Sport Roadster Coupe in Stormy Blue, with the electric folding hardtop and 6-speed manual gearbox.
This is the desirable 2.0 Sport model, so it has the limited-slip differential, Bilstein sport suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels, climate control, heated seats, DSC/traction control, front fog lights and twin exhausts.
MOT until 23 January 2027. Mileage is currently around 88,000 miles.
The car has a large history file, including Mazda manuals, Mazda Digital Service Record printouts, MOTs, invoices, V5, two Mazda remote keys and supporting paperwork. It was serviced in January 2026 at 88,044 miles, including oil, oil filter and spark plugs.
The early history is particularly well documented. The Mazda Digital Service Record shows dealer servicing from PDI through to 2013, followed by a folder of later MOTs, invoices and service/repair records. I would describe it as a good history file rather than full service history, as I do not have proof of every single annual service.
There is also paperwork relating to an engine replacement early in the car's life. The replacement appears to have been carried out while the car was still within its original Mazda warranty period, and the file includes a 2010 RAC Component Examination report confirming the engine installation was inspected and that the work had been carried out to a good standard. Happy to show the paperwork to serious buyers.
Importantly, the car is solid underneath with no visible rust on the sills, arches or underside. This is one of the main things to check on an NC MX-5, and this car is very good in that respect.
It has also been upgraded with a Pioneer touchscreen head unit with Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, DAB+ and media connectivity, which makes it much more usable day to day than the standard stereo.
Condition is good for the age, but it is a 2008 car and I am not pretending it is concours. There are normal age-related marks and the headlights are a little cloudy, as shown in the photos. Interior is tidy overall with the usual signs of use.
A genuine, usable MX-5 with the right engine, the right gearbox, the folding hardtop, no rust, a long MOT, CarPlay and a proper history file.
