Description
Volvo V40 Cross Country T5 AWD Auto, 2014, Japanese import.
This is the more interesting T5 AWD version, so not your usual V40. I imported it around 2 years ago and bought it as a keeper. It's top spec, much better equipped than the UK cars I was finding at the time, and has excellent Japanese history before import.
Since importing it, it has been maintained properly in the UK too. It was serviced at the end of last year by a premium Volvo specialist, and I've tried to look after it well. Even the battery and wiper blades were replaced with genuine Volvo parts.
Spec includes air conditioning, adaptive cruise control, two tone leather electric heated seats, refurbished alloys, and it still has the original JDM toll card unit fitted. The colour is brilliant too, sort of a dark burnt orange / brown metallic, and it looks great in the sun.
Inside and outside, it's in really good condition.
Unfortunately I've been a bit unlucky, and a bit stupid. I didn't check the oil level when I should have, and it has developed a slight knock at idle and a rattle on start up. Once I noticed it, I only drove it once, straight to the Volvo specialist, and it drove completely normally. No loss of power, no warning lights, but the knock is there and I want to be honest about it.
I'm gutted, as I genuinely loved the car and planned to keep it for years, but I just can't afford the repair.
Because of the engine knock, it's being sold as spares or repair / project, priced accordingly. For someone who knows these cars, has a good garage, or can do the work themselves, I think it could be a very good buy.
Viewings welcome. Buyer to inspect and satisfy themselves before purchase. Happy to answer any questions honestly.
Priced to sell, but open to sensible offers.
