Invoices for maintenance and repair work are on file from the 1960's and include a major engine rebuild invoice that included regrinding the crankshaft, new pistons, main and big end bearings and re-metalling con rods. A file of further invoices between 1965 and the early 1970's support the cars first restoration with a large amount of work carried out by MG specialists Toulmin Motors in Hounslow that included rebuilding the rear axle, rebuilding the gearbox and major work was carried out by Metalion Limited in Willesden, North London that included stripping the bare chassis, sand blasting it, zinc spraying and then finishing it in stoved Black enamel. By 1974 the MG was with Popplewell's Coach Works Ltd in Epping for metal work and re-spraying and pages of invoices detail mechanical re-commissioning and restoration work. In 1980, and the cars long term owner took the MG to a renowned MG specialists Brown and Gammons for a further restoration. The engine and gearbox were once again stripped, and the brakes, suspension and steering overhauled. From 2008 to 2015 the MG was taken by its long term owner to France and the car was used for on the continent use and touring. Shortly after its return to the UK in 2017, many years on since its most recent restoration, the MG was taken to a specialist Bodyshop for a re-paint and detailed working costing almost 8000 ensuring the MG has a lovely, gleaming paint finish prior to parting with the car after over 50 years.
