Description

Tribute Automotive specialise in designing and manufacturing body . As a reworking of the iconic and rather unobtainable Ferrari 250 SWB, the Tribute is a perfect metaphor to describe the phrase ' best of both worlds'. The original builder of this car went beyond the scope of creativity, and incorporated many details and touches not seen on any other Tribute, which has provided it with a little extra class and finesse. The car started out as a 1998 BMW Z3 2.8, which was bought in 2012 and maintained by the original builder, a well-known body shop expert. The donor car is thought to have had 7 previous owners and was in good working order with no structural issues. The Tribute underwent extensive labour of love after being purchased as a kit from the manufacturers in 2014/2015. The hours spent building, fettling, refining and detailing ran into months of labour, but the creator had a clear vision of what the car should look like and finished it in a competition style, which piqued the attention of the current owner in 2019. As a die-hard car enthusiast who has a collection of delectable connoisseur automobiles, he was captivated by the beautiful finish and near-perfect contours of the Tribute and felt it needed a place in the collection. After many years of enjoying the car he has decided to sell the car, mainly to create a little more space. The reproduction Lucas P700 7" headlamps, spotlights as well as shapely indicators, go some way into providing the car with a faithful look. However, there is a touch of genuine Ferrari authenticity as you can point out the use of the genuine prancing horse door mirrors and handles. The car sports a set of near immaculate 17" steel race-style wheels finished off with a set of neat Dunlop spinners. The M52 2.8-litre 190bhp engine is a well-proven and reliable unit with a good reputation and this one has the added reassurance of impressive service history. As a result, the car runs well with no issues, unwanted noises or evidence of neglect. The exhaust is noteworthy as the only additional piece of kit added during this time. The beautifully made straight-through stainless steel system, adds a little extra drama to the soundtrack of the car. this example has seen an astonishing level of care since its metamorphosis. With the market recognising the demand for top end replicas, this particular Tribute stands proud among one of the best of the breed. Find the video on YouTube.
