Description

For sale is my 1983 mk1 Golf GTI - 2.0 16v - Fast road car. Owned since July 2017, I have put an outline spec of the car below but obviously anyone interested will need to come and view the car and have a chat. Body: Taken back to bare metal all over, new panels including inner and outer sills, floor pans, front and back panels, rear chassis legs and bottoms of doors repaired followed by a full respray in Lhasa Green (standard colour of the car). The car is in perfect condition now with no rust or rot anywhere. The car sits on a set of G60 steels to give the 'sleeper' look. Carbon fibre front and rear bumpers. Engine: Engine built my Norris Motorsport in Alfreton, Derbyshire. 2.0 16v on jenvy throttle bodies, AEM infinity ECU, custom pistons, custom rods, hours of head work. All sensors are AEM sensors. Fuel pump & filter relocated to spare wheel well with braded fuel hoses throughout. Multispeed radiator fan controlled by ECU. Full custom exhaust built by JP Exhausts. I have never had the car on a dyno but it is dangerously fast... pops and bangs and sounds like a rally car. Gearbox: (Mk2 16v) 020 2Y with quaife LSD and 2.9 final drive ratio, full gear box build by 'gas and gears'. Uprated Sachs clutch and lightened & balanced fly wheel. Willwood hydraulic clutch. Brakes and suspension: 4 pot willwood calipers and updated disks on front with standard drums on rear. KW v3 adjustable coilovers front and rear. Interior: As I was going for the 'sleeper' look the car has two standard mk1 golf seats with leather bolsters and that's about it! It has the AEM carbon digital dash with CAN module so all the warning lights on the dash work correctly like indicators, high beam, fuel gauge, etc etc. General: There are no problems with the car at all, this isn't a project car, this is a completed nut and bolt restoration into a fast road car with a high spec. The car starts and drives perfectly with no issues to report. The car is very fast and sounds amazing. The car has been finished for around 3 years now and I really enjoyed building the car and going to shows etc but now having children and owning other cars I just don't get time to use the golf. I have covered 2500 miles in the car since finishing it 3 years ago. I have endless pictures of the whole build. Tax & MOT exempt. Any questions just ask.
