2006 Mazda MX5 NC 2.5 Duratec Conversion | 69k Miles MOT untill January. For sale is my 2006 Mazda MX5 NC soft top fitted with a 2.5 Duratec engine conversion. I've owned the car for just over a year and during that time a huge amount of money has been spent getting the conversion and supporting components right. The intention was always to keep the car long-term, which is why I've continued to invest in it rather than cutting corners. The car currently shows approximately 69,800 miles (rising as ill be using the car). During the engine conversion the ECU, immobiliser and clocks were changed as part of the 2.0 ECU setup at around 60,000 miles. The mileage progression is documented and I have messages with the garage relating to the work. The shell is in good condition for its age, The bodywork presents well overall with the usual age-related marks you'd expect from a 20-year-old MX5! Ive included photos of any issues I have noticed The soft top is in good condition and watertight. There is a slight wave near the front (photos), but it has never caused any issues. Major work carried out includes: Engine & Conversion 2.5L Duratec engine conversion New clutch 2.0 ECU conversion ECU remapped for the 2.5 setup 2.0 wiring loom fitted to enable correct VVT operation Compression tested with healthy results on ALL cylinders Ignition & Fuel System New spark plugs New ignition coil packs New MAP sensor New MAF sensor New EGR valve (this has been blocked off, physically and via ecu) Both O2 sensors replaced General Maintenance New battery Refurbished alloy wheels 4 uniroyal rain sport 5 tyres with less than 400 miles on them Please note it only has 1 fob with a key blade, but i have a couple of fobs programmed for central locking. The 2.5 conversion transforms the car compared to the original 1.8, providing significantly more torque throughout the rev range while retaining everything that makes an MX-5 enjoyable to drive. The car comes with invoices, receipts and documentation relating to the conversion and subsequent work.
