Description

This Jaguar XJS benefits from a 5.3L V12 Engine. Bought the car during covid as a project as it hadn't been used for many years. The car runs well and is usually driven a few miles every week but I'm selling as a project car as attention to the bodywork plus small jobs are required but the car can be used as it is. The car is registered in 1988 with just 84000 miles on the clock. It's a V12 5.3L automatic and always draws attention. Since I've had it there's been plenty jobs done but as my mechanic has retired I'm unable to continue maintaining it and therefore decided to sell. The car has had the following work carried out during my ownership:- Replacement steering rack, although still slight leak from one of the hoses. (normal on these cars) New Spark plugs, Rear shockers and springs. Some new exhaust parts. New headlining. New radiator and some new hoses, although still very small leak from a pipe. New brakes pad and calipers refurbished. New windscreen and seal. Small amount of welding and new radius arm. There's still a very small water leak which looks like it could from one of the hose clips, so would need checking out. There's also a slight knocking noise from the exhaust pipe banging on the axle when going over bumps which could do with resolving. AC needs attention and windows don't go fully down. Probably need taking out and lubricating. Regarding the bodywork, it's not great but still looks ok from the outside, although paintwork is old and there's rust on wheel arches. Some welding required underneath the car. My mechanic says, not as bad as some people would make out as it's an old car and just needs someone to do the basics. Selling as is. Viewing recommended. Part service history. MOT'd until October 2026. Based near Manchester.
