Description

2001 Saab 9-3 2.0L Aero HOT manual convertible, B205R engine, Abbott Racing remap to 250bhp. This brings the 0-60 time down from ~7 secs to 6.5 secs (ignore the auto-filled specs). Enthusiast owned and well cared for, with strong turbo engagement, comfortable long-distance cruising and good mpg. Key highlights: - 250bhp remap from Abbot Racing, a reputable Saab tuner. - Viggen Rescue Kit fitted: Incl alloy steering rack brace, support arm roller bearing kit, polyurethane track control arm bush kit, and stainless steel subframe brace, improving handling and reducing torque steer. - Viggen dampers & springs. - Geometry straightened, with shims on the rear too. - Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres all round, fitted 4k miles ago. - Genuine DIC, NGK plugs, thermostat, coolant temp sensor and battery recently replaced. - New radiator/coolant fitted recently by Cromwell Saab. - PCV #6 update fitted to avoid Saab's oil sludge issues. - Sump dropped in 2023: No oil sludge found, correct Loctite 518 sealant used. - Professional rear inner arch rust repairs. - Low-mileage gearbox fitted to remove reverse gear crunch. - Silicone vacuum hoses. - Fuel pump replaced. - Lots of receipts/history. 140k miles. MOT until 2 September 2026. Last MOT passed with no advisories after some brake fixes. 2 remote keys. Located Waterloo, central London, though I can meet outside London for a serious buyer. Spec includes heated leather electric seats, reverse sensors, cruise control, night panel, Aero body kit, traction control (turned off via a button), wind deflector. During my ownership, in addition to the recent items above, it has had: Premium E5 fuel only, oil and genuine filter, throttle body clean, Yuasa battery, cabin filter, air filter, wiper blades, headlight relay, fuel system cleaner, boot leak fixed, hinges/latches greased and handbrake adjusted. Lots of life in the brake pads and tyres. The engine runs flawlessly and the car drives very well. No rust on arches or structural areas. There is some non-structural boot floor rust from an old leak, long since fixed. Roof/boot currently leak-free. Bad bits: The common convertible roof hydraulic issue is present. Two tonneau cover hydraulic cylinders leak, so the roof is operated manually, but microswitches for the flaps/locks work. A few pixels are missing on the info display.
