Description
BMW 320d SE AUTO touring registered 10/2016 94500miles (newer B47 engine) removeable towbar. 9 speed auto (with paddle shift), 2 keys.
I bought this car in August 2025 as at the time we were buying a caravan. The car had a removeable towbar fitted with 7 pin electrics. I have had the towbar electrics changed professionally to 13 Pin. To cut a long story short we never went ahead with the caravan purchase. Every caravan we were interested in turned out to have damp issues when we had them checked.
The car however has turned out to be great. I've had the battery changed and new rear tyres. The previous owner had changed the steering wheel to the 'M' sport steering wheel with paddle change. When I bought the car, the paddles didn't work. The car is now coded correctly for the steering wheel & the paddles do now work (not that I ever use them). The car has just had an oil service. I've always changed the other service parts myself. I have a BOSCH oil, air and cabin filter that will come with the car.
The 9 speed Auto gearbox is so smooth. Since owning it I've been to the Highlands in Scotland in it & the beaches of Devon. The car really has been a real pleasure to drive. With leather seats all round (the front heated), air con, reversing camera and all the other bits that BMW's come with. Everything works as it should.
So why am I selling? We have 2 large dogs. They do fit in the boot - it has the removeable dog guard. It's a squeeze. Our older dog is 13, she cannot get in so has to be lifted. I have a van as well. Rather than buy the caravan I've converted the van. This gives us far more flexibility - more room for the dogs and as it's lower, the older dog can get in un-aided.
So overall the car is great. Just for balance I'll list what I see as slight negatives. The back lights are LCD. The nearside light had a small crack in the lens. This has been filled and doesn't leak - it has since passed an MOT. The rear bumper has got a little of clear coat beginning to peal. It's an easy job to remove the bumper (I watched the towbar guy do this). The wheels could do with a refurb. All tyres hold their pressure and the pressure sensors all still work. On start up - you occasionally get a warning saying to check the cruise control. If you press ok this disappears and doesn't affect the cruise control function. I had the cruise control active for a lot of the trip to Scotland. It seems to come on more so if the steering is left parked off centre. I'm fairly sure
