Description
BMW 318d Touring | 2012 | 5-speed Manual | 160,000 miles
Reliable, honest BMW estate with plenty of life left in it. We've owned it for around 8 years and are only selling because we no longer need a second car.
It has covered around 160,000 miles, mostly motorway miles, and has been serviced annually by our local independent garage. Unfortunately, the service book has been misplaced and I don't have the receipts. It has also had maintenance carried out as required, including a replacement clutch around three years ago.
Well-equipped with heated front seats, large-screen sat nav, rear parking sensors, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth, USB and automatic headlights.
The bodywork has the expected age-related marks and a few scrapes, but overall it still looks smart for its age.
MOT until December. Starts first time, drives well, returns excellent fuel economy and has been a dependable family car. Everything works as it should, including the air conditioning and electric windows. Never smoked in and no pets.
I'd rather be completely honest about the few faults:
Driver's door doesn't unlock on the central locking, although all other doors do. We've simply lived with it because holding the unlock button lowers all the windows, making it easy to unlock the driver's door from inside. I've never investigated the fault.
Driver's wing mirror glass has a slight wobble but hasn't affected visibility enough to replace.
iDrive service indicator shows an engine oil service and brake fluid change are due.
Dashboard shows a bulb warning light, but as far as I can tell all exterior lights are working correctly, so I suspect it's a sensor or intermittent fault.
Good tyres and, overall, a genuine, reliable BMW that has served us well. It's not perfect, but it's an honest car that's priced accordingly and I believe has plenty of life left with regular servicing.
