Description

For sale is my Mercedes SLK280 3.0 V6 with AMG Sport pack in red with black leather interior and gray AMG wheels. First of all the good... Car has: Electric heated memory seats, auto folding and dimming mirrors, electric steering column, air scarf. Parking sensors front and rear Digital climatronic aircon DVD / CD / SD Card / FM / AM Sat nav with Bluetooth telephony and bluetooth audio through the aux port Cruise control Flappy paddles 7sp auto box Xenon auto headlights and cornering function and auto wipers 2x keys A roof that works and is glorious in this epic weather! A glorious 3.0l V6 engine that purrs and doesn't have any chain rattle on a cold start. Work completed: Gearbox serviced Feb 24 Rear subframe replaced by Mercedes Mar 24 Brake fluid service May 24 Rear wheel bearings, bushes, backing plates and NSR link June 24 Front discs and pads and FOS caliper replaced June 24 Thermostat and coolant replaced Jan 25 Both front lower thrust arms replaced Feb 25 Hydraulic relays for roof replaced May 25 Car was serviced between 2011-2014 then its missing service history until 2023 then serviced ever since. Next service is due in 7800 miles. Now unfortunately the bad... The car needs a new aircon pressure switch to make the aircon ice-cold again, currently its intermittent. The bodywork is tired and there is lacquer peel on a few areas - pics attached. And the elephant in the room is the OSF strut tower which as you can see from the pics has rusted through completely and needs welding a new patch on it. I've run a CarVertical check and there was damage recorded on it in 2019 (before my ownership) but it wasnt written off. No further details unfortunately. Whilst the car has a clean MOT I also know its not safe to drive so very reluctantly it is for spares / repairs. Everything listed above works perfectly (bar the intermittent aircon!) and it would be a crying shame to scrap it, so I'm hopeful that someone with more talent than me can weld the strut tower back together and have a cheap but immensely fun convertible. Currently the car is on my own plate but this will be changed back to the original plate of YE09XYW shortly. Please, no tyre kickers, no low ball 10 offers etc... the car is decent, but needs some love given back to it (and a strut tower repaired)
